More From "The Party"

I wish I would have gotten a picture of our picnick tables completely filled because it was amazing how much God provided for us (and it put one big smile on my face!)!
I did not think we would half as much as we ended up putting on those 2 tables. But doesn't God always provide for those who honor Him? and He always gives us what we need even when we don't deserve it! :) May we strive every day to be more faithful to Him who gave us life in Himself and Who provides even for all our temporal and daily needs!
Pro. 2:1-12
My son, if you will receive my sayings, And treasure my commandments within you, Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding; For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding; If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will discern the fear of the LORD, And discover the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, Guarding the paths of justice, And He preserves the way of His godly ones. Then you will discern righteousness and justice And equity and every good course. For wisdom will enter your heart, And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; Discretion will guard you, Understanding will watch over you, To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things.......

Today's Sunday Reading

Psalm 17
[A Prayer of David]. Hear a just cause, O LORD, give heed to my cry; Give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips. Let my judgment come forth from Thy presence; Let Thine eyes look with equity. Thou hast tried my heart; Thou hast visited [me] by night; Thou hast tested me and dost find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress. As for the deeds of men, by the word of Thy lips I have kept from the paths of the violent. My steps have held fast to Thy paths. My feet have not slipped. I have called upon Thee, for Thou wilt answer me, O God; Incline Thine ear to me, hear my speech. Wondrously show Thy lovingkindness, O Savior of those who take refuge at Thy right hand From those who rise up [against them]. Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Thy wings, From the wicked who despoil me, My deadly enemies, who surround me. They have closed their unfeeling [heart]; With their mouth they speak proudly. They have now surrounded us in our steps; They set their eyes to cast [us] down to the ground. He is like a lion that is eager to tear, And as a young lion lurking in hiding places. Arise, O LORD, confront him, bring him low; Deliver my soul from the wicked with Thy sword, From men with Thy hand, O LORD, From men of the world, whose portion is in [this] life; And whose belly Thou dost fill with Thy treasure; They are satisfied with children, And leave their abundance to their babes. As for me, I shall behold Thy face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Thy likeness when I awake.

Explaining the "Junk"

OK, this is the "other part" of that "junk food" post. ;) hehe
It's what you might call a small part of THE PARTY!
Yes! We got to have Historian Bill Potter and some of his family over as well as some other friends of ours. It was sooooo much fun! Mr. Potter is a very humble and knowledgeable man, all at the same time! He knows so much History it blows your mind! -- Oh! To know what he knows! (someday I hope to know at least a little of all that he knows, by God's grace)
Ecc 12:9
In addition to being a wise man, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge; and he pondered, searched out and arranged many proverbs.
Mal 2:6
"True instruction was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many back from iniquity."

Broccoli, Chicken, and Organic Rice Casserole

3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cooked & chopped
2(10ounce)packages frozen chopped broccoli, cooked
3 cups cooked rice (I use organic long-grain mixes of different sorts, but you can use any kind really)
1(10ounce)can cream of chicken soup (or you can use 2, 6oz. 98% fat free, cans) ;)
2 1/2 cups shredded (low-moisture, part skim) ;) mozzerrella cheese (set aside 2/3 cup)
1/2 cup sour cream (I use fat free) ;)
1 cup milk
salt, pepper to taste
2 bouillon cubes
2 TBS. margarine or butter (I use Smart Balance) ;)

Preheat oven to 350. Cook the chicken in the salt & pepper (and I add garlic and a bit of oregano to our family's taste)in a little olive oil in the pan and cut into bite sized pieces. Boil the broccoli and drain water (set aside). Cook the rice, adding into it the margarine and bouillon cubes. While the rice cooks, stir together the chicken soup, sour cream, milk and 2/3 cup cheese (make sure it's not too thick; if it seams that way just add some more milk. By now I don't messure it when I make it cuz I know how moist our family likes it. Just remember that the milk will be all the miostness in the whole).
Get a deep dish, alluminum or glass, it doesn't matter. Scoop rice in (should be about 1/2 in. thick, or so, just not too thin a layer). Then the chicken topped with half of the cream soup and cheese mixture, divided evenly over it all. Distribute the broccoli over the chicken and rice and pour the rest of the soup mix over that. Sprinkle with remaining cheese (might need more or less, it's up to the liking). Bake only untill the cheese is golden around the edges.

What Does This Mean?

What could be on the menu for tonight?!
1Th 5:24
Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

Birthday Girl!

This was Jenny's "Easter Egg" cake. Oliver wanted to be sure I included the picture he took of my decorating it. ;) It may not be very fancy, but at least everyone enjoyed it. :)

P.S. Can you tell Jenny loves Robin Eggs? ;)

1Th 5:15-18

See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all men. Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

More For the Freezer...and For Supper

Broccoli, chicken, and organic long-grain rice casserole. I fixed-up several for the freezer and then put one in the oven for our supper the other night. (and someone I see, snitched some out before I took the picture! so, my casserole has a "dent" in the side of it there! haha)
Heb 10:36
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.

Today's Sunday Reading

Psa 16:1-11
Preserve me, O God, for I take refuge in Thee. I said to the LORD, "Thou art my Lord; I have no good besides Thee." As for the saints who are in the earth, They are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight. The sorrows of those who have bartered for another [god] will be multiplied; I shall not pour out their libations of blood, Nor shall I take their names upon my lips. The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; Thou dost support my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me. I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night. I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely. For Thou wilt not abandon my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt Thou allow Thy Holy One to undergo decay. Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; In Thy presence is fulness of joy; In Thy right hand there are pleasures forever.

So, Here It Is

This is what was in the last picture-post, chocolate chip banana bread. Made with freshly ground hard wheat flour and which recipe one can substitute sucanat instead of sugar for! ;)
2Co 4:5-6
For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Take a Guess!

Can you guess what this will be? :)
Deu 10:20-21, 11:1
"You shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name. He is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen. You shall therefore love the LORD your God, and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.

Green Beans & Chicken

Green bean casserole and roasted chicken.
Deu 10:14-17
"Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it. Yet on your fathers did the LORD set His affection to love them, and He chose their descendants after them, [even] you above all peoples, as [it is] this day. Circumcise then your heart, and stiffen your neck no more. For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality, nor take a bribe."

Something Special

My not-so-often specialty! Cheesecake :)
Deu 10:12-13
"And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, [and] to keep the LORD's commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?"

Simple Supper

Yes, sometimes simple is best, in my opinion. :) Nachoes and salad.
Deu 4:29
"But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find [Him] if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul."

Spinach Filled Pasta

Spinach and cottage cheese filled pasta shells with tomato sauce and cheese on top, and baked for 1 hour. Mmmm!

1Pe 3:15

....but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always [being] ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;

Today's Sunday Reading

Psa 16:1-11

For my German cousins. :)

Sorry for the Delay

Sorry to have been so sparatic in my postings this past week! I've gotten a new computer from my dad, so he's been working on it gathering all the files and such I had on my old one and putting them on this one. I am very happy. :)
This was a banana and peach "slushy" I made the other night for us. Again, this one has yogurt not icecream in it.
Psa 71:14
But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise Thee yet more and more.

Last Sunday's Reading

Psa 14
For the choir director. A Psalm of David . The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good. The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men, To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one. Do all the workers of wickedness not know, Who eat up my people [as] they eat bread, [And] do not call upon the Lord? There they are in great dread, For God is with the righteous generation. You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted, But the LORD is his refuge. Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores His captive people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad.
Psa 15
A Psalm of David. O Lord, who may abide in Thy tent? Who may dwell on Thy holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor takes up a reproach against his friend; In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honors those who fear the LORD; He swears to his own hurt, and does not change; He does not put out his money at interest, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.

Burritoes with "all the fixin's" and organic chips. Yummy!
Jam 3:13, 17
Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom....... But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

Siblings and Salad

These are my two youngest siblings, and recipients of all that is pictured on this blog. :)
And, of course, our yummy (though un-tossed) Caesar salad.
Rom 10:14-15
How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!"

Col 2:2-3
....that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Sunday's Reading

Psa 13:1-6
[For the choir director. A Psalm of David]. How long, O LORD? Wilt Thou forget me forever? How long wilt Thou hide Thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and answer me, O LORD, my God; Enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, Lest my enemy say, "I have overcome him," Lest my adversaries rejoice when I am shaken. But I have trusted in Thy lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in Thy salvation. I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Why it's sweet potato soufflé! Mmmmm!!!! Finally I found a recipe the whole family loves!
Eph 1:17
....that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.
